Poe Quilted Art Caricature

Poe Quilted Art Caricature

Once upon midnight not so dreary... I pondered... a caricature of Edgar Allan Poe, in part because he is still such an intriguing literary figure, and because my daughter teaches high school English. I also wanted to try out another experiment with paints! Yes, I'm...

Sateen Quilted Art

Sateen Quilted Art

Still being fairly new to FMQ (2.5 years now), I'm still enchanted with all the possibilities for stitches. To celebrate these stitches as an art form, which they are anyway(!), I wanted to do a quilted art piece using just one piece of fabric and one color of thread....

Painted Trapunto Flower

Painted Trapunto Flower

Another experiment with new paints. I had been curious about Dye-Na-Flow liquid acrylic paints so I decided to see how they performed. My first experiment was going to be a simple flower which, I figured if it turned out ok, I'd make it into a pillow. First off, these...

Inktense Flowers

By popular demand, how I created my "Inktense Flowers". I was new to Inktense last year so this was an experiment.  A normal person would have thrown this experiment away pretty early on, but we're not talking about a normal person here. We're talking about a stubborn...

“Galaxy” Quilted Art on Canvas

Another fearless experiment with paint! (I say fearless because I don't know about you but I find a blank canvas or a blank piece of fabric quite intimidating!!) I got a nice set of Jacquard Dye-Na-Flow fabric paints (all fabric paints are linked in my Products tab)...

About Me

I began my free motion quilting (FMQ) journey in February 2017. Some of my pieces are for sale and I do commission work.

I’m also a professional artist, photographer, and greeting card artist & writer (humor). I love combining quilting and art! I got my inspiration from my grandmother who was a quilter. Being under one of her quilts felt like love itself.

My blog was begun in October 2018. The first post shows how I got started and includes some other projects from 2017, too. See my gallery for more of my current works!

I live in Austin, Texas with my sweet husband, two cute doggies, a beautiful koi pond, and my Bernina Q20!
